Chronicles the Lakota Indians' century-long quest to reclaim the Black Hills, sacred land that was stolen in violation of treaty agreements. A searing, timely portrait of resistance, the film explores the ways America has ignored its debt to indigenous communities, and ponders what might be done today to repair the wrongs of the past.

Broc Anderson, Director of Historic Sites for History Nebraska, will present on the historical significance of the Black Hills and the Lakota people’s struggle to reclaim the sacred territory taken in violation of treaty agreement.
Through the Beyond the Lens series, in partnership with The World Theatre, MONA presents a selection of films with cultural, aesthetic, or historical significance.
